Lean into healthy coping mechanisms
Most smokers relapse after a breakup because they have learned to use cigarettes to help cope with life’s difficult, stressful situations. They are under the illusion that smoking helps to relieve their pain and stress.
Like a pacifier provides comfort for a crying baby, so too does cigarettes provide comfort for adults.
However, in reality, smoking actually does nothing to fix the problem, it only helps you to forget about it for a few moments.
